Finally, we all had a truce and decided to hog while I check out the books...Peace..!!
And so at 7 : 30 I reached the book fair (I was stuck in the traffic for more than 2hours..I deserve sympathy.!!). There were two huge halls on either side of the center. I was far beyond excited. Seeing books around I forgot about the churns and grumble sounds my tummy made.
There were just books, books, books everywhere..Ahh I spoke too soon..Every silver lining is sliced across by a small dark wire (completely invisible to the naked eye), which while passing cuts us through as well.!!! What I meant to say was almost 95per of the books which were displayed were of different languages (which I neither speak nor read)..!! Only around 2 or 3 rows of stalls had English books.
All my hopes and dreams were shattered, then I realized how hungry I was feeling (My stomach replied.."you deserve it"..!!)
But in spite of my disappointment, I was very happy to see people from different background come and attend with their kids. It is good to see the parents trying to instill good (infact the best) habit of reading books.
I did not leave the place empty handed, I did buy a book from a stall where an Englishman was trying to sell books of an author from an old era (when there were no televisions), L.Ron Hubbard. I was instantly attracted to this salesman like every other customer, I listened to what he had to tell about this author. The best part of his books were, they came along with an audio CD where each character is enacted by different artistes. I found that interesting and the salesman also made me listen to one paragraph of a story too..Now who wouldn't want to buy that!! I bought a copy of "Branded outlaw" with a CD.
And with this my trip to book fair came to an end. I bought a book, a CD, and the best of all my tummy was fed by a hot n spicy samosa my mom brought..And hence..Happy Ending
